Multidimensional timbre analysis of melody

Abstract

An invited lecture presenting the application of a computational model of timbre to the analysis and representation of timbre and timbre change over time in music. Here the model is applied specifically to a specific style of Japanese shakuhachi music in which timbre plays an important structuring role.
