Wooden objects discovered in the harbour of Telo Martius

Abstract
Excavations conducted at Toulon between 1984 and 1988 yielded a large amount of archaeological material, particularly from harbour dumps. The 29 wooden objects examined in this article provide an overview of the various categories of object found in the ancient harbour of Toulon in the years 1984‑1988. The majority of these objects, dated to between the late 1st and second half of the 3rd or perhaps the 4th century AD, fall into five function categories: body care, cooking, crafts, navigation and trade.
Les fouilles réalisées à Toulon entre 1984 et 1988 ont livré une grande quantité de mobilier archéologique provenant notamment de dépotoirs portuaires. Datés entre la fin du I er et la seconde moitié du III e et peut-être même du Iv e siècle apr. J.-C., les 29 objets en bois étudiés dans cet article se rapportent à quatre catégories fonctionnelles : le soin du corps, la cuisine, l'artisanat et la navigation.
